Hi, I'm Michelle – your local dog photographer based in Burlington, Iowa.
My love for photography began back in high school when my brother and sister gifted me my first Fuji point-and-shoot camera. From that moment on, I was hooked. I dove into learning everything I could about photography, and anyone around me quickly became my model.
Then came the smartphone era, and like many, I put my camera down to capture everyday moments with my son more conveniently. Years passed, and one day, I picked up my camera again. The feeling was instant — all those old sparks of passion came flooding back. Only this time, I had a new muse: our family dog (since he couldn't complain). He was a natural in front of the camera, almost like he’d modeled in a past life.
That dog became the focus of my work and helped me fall in love with photography all over again. When he crossed the rainbow bridge a couple of years ago, I was heartbroken — but so grateful to have captured every stage of his life. Jake was my soul dog, and in many ways, he gave me the final push I needed to focus more intentionally on dog photography.
Today, while I still offer a limited number of people sessions (like family and senior portraits), my heart lies in photographing dogs. I serve the Burlington and West Burlington areas and am open to traveling throughout Southeastern Iowa.
I would be honored to meet your dog and help tell their story — showcasing their personality, expressions, and what makes them the heart of your home. Whether goofy, soulful, mischievous, or sweet, every dog has a story to tell. Let's capture it together.
